Mini golf and playground

In the middle of the hotel grounds you will find our popular 18-hole mini golf course – a classic for children and adults alike. Easy to pick up, but challenging enough for hours of entertainment. Clubs and balls are lent out at reception.

Right beside it lies our playground with trampolines, a play tower and swings. The children can burn off energy while the grown-ups enjoy a cup of coffee at one of our outdoor picnic tables.

You can play the course whether or not you are staying at the hotel. For larger groups, please call ahead to book a time.

What's on at Hotel Lillevang

Now and then we host smaller events that bring life to the hotel and the campsite: mini golf tournaments, barbecue evenings, small concerts, local market days and seasonal gatherings for children and adults.

We love bringing guests and locals together – in a relaxed, manageable format. Our events are usually informal and open to everyone.

The story of Hotel Lillevang

Lillevang, at Bjergbygade 78 in Slagelse, was built in 1921 as a private mansion for Thorkild Thorgils, director of the Alliance iron foundry. The elegant building was raised in neoclassical style with characteristic pilasters and a pediment, and a stable and carriage house were built alongside it.

Director Thorgils drove to the factory every day in a gig pulled by the fjord horse Fritz – a horse notorious among the smithy apprentices for resisting being shod. The basis for Thorgils' position was his marriage to Olga Johanne Bertholine Madsen, daughter of the merchant Peter Madsen, who took over and developed the foundry in the early 1900s.

After Thorgils' death in 1934 the villa remained in the family until 1946, when Olga Thorgils moved out. In the 1960s Slagelse Municipality took over the property and turned it into a youth hostel and youth club – an initiative started by committed citizens connected to the scouting movement. The building was named “Ungdomsborgen”, and in 1971 an extra wing was added.

Today the villa and the surrounding grounds have been transformed into Hotel Lillevang – fully renovated and modernised, but still with respect for the building's history. The hotel now holds rooms, holiday homes and a campsite.

Discover Slagelse and the region

Hotel Lillevang lies in the heart of West Zealand, close to everything the town has to offer. Explore Slagelse's charming centre with cafés, restaurants and shops, or visit Vestsjællandscenteret with more than 40 speciality shops and eateries.

For culture, there is Slagelse Musikhus and the atmospheric Slagelse Teater. If you are drawn to history and Vikings, Trelleborg – one of Denmark's best-preserved ring fortresses – is only a ten-minute drive away.

Nature is never far off either. Take a walk or a bike ride through the green areas, visit Antvorskov Abbey, or enjoy a quiet moment by the lakes and the coast.

The pool is a few minutes' walk from the hotel and has plenty of good facilities – for the family, on your own or with your partner.
